Touch screen laptops are really interesting and a lot of persons have found them very useful because of the new way you can interact with them. However, at the moment, most touch screen models are a bit too expensive for the budget of an ordinary user and this is the main reason they have not gained even more popularity.
However, Acer decided it was time to do what they do best and offered a new touch screen laptop that comes at a very reasonable price. But is it any good? Well, first of all we have to say that it comes with a pleasant design and also benefits from quite qualitative materials. Unfortunately the overall construction quality remains at Acer levels, which means that it is nothing more than acceptable. However, the 15.6 inches display looks pretty well and offers great colors and sharpness.
The performances of which the new Aspire 5738PG is capable are not bad either for a touch screen laptop. It comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, 4 GB of DDR2 RAM and a 320 GB SATA hard drive that spins at 5400 rpm. Even more, it has a dedicated video card powered by the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 chipset that also includes 512 MB of RAM.
Everything is great when it comes to the Acer Aspire 5738PG, except the fact that it was not built as a touch screen laptop and you can easily notice that when the hinges are not powerful enough to resist whenever you press the screen.
